This section will report small items of news and information not covered elsewhere. It is as an addition to the 'minutes' of the N.C.A.S. meetings, held quarterly, that are reported more fully to club secretaries.

August 12th 2010 NOTES I have loaded a letter from the Regional Treasurer indicating his worries for the funding of N.C.A.S. after the change to G.N.A.S. affiliation collection. Please note that the opinions indicated in the letter are the personal opinions of the treasurer.
August 2nd 2010 NOTES The results for the recently held 'Grand Northern Archery meeting' are available to the web site. The 'Roll of Honour' for those winning major awards is also due for an update but this cannot be completed for a short while.
June 20th 2010 NOTES The EAF 'Commonwealth Games' team qualification shoot will be held shortly at Nottingham. Results will be available on the EAF web site (we link to this site from the 'home' page.) I have corrected an error in the linking of clout results for 2009. A note was made to the effect that the 'new' GNAS / ArcheryGB web site appears to have little to explain 'clout' shooting, awards or results. As an interim step this site will host any material that is though necessary to assist enthusiastic clout shooters.
May 6th 2010 NOTES Loaded final placings for Junior Winter postal shoot. Loaded two PDF files. Imperial and metric clout age /distance updates and tassel standards. (available from side menu)
April 6th 2010 NOTES Loaded February results for Junior Postal Winter League.
March 20th 2010 NOTES The 'Tassel' status clout in Cumbria has been moved from 1st August to 8th August. The site 'Diary' and 'Tassel' Spreadsheet both echo this change. A review of the constitution of the N.C.A.S. is to be carried out as it is required to bring this in line with modern practices.
March 5th 2010 NOTES Loaded January results for Junior Postal Winter League.
March 3rd 2010 NOTES Loaded revised list of 'Clout' competitions.
February 26th 2010 NOTES Loaded corrected Junior Selection form with closing date attached. Corrected committee entries for Lancashire.
February 22nd 2010 NOTES Two competition entry forms have been loaded that will display as the 'next 6' diary entries move closer to the date.
February 14th 2010 NOTES I have placed the older versions of clout 'Rankings'and 'Tassel' events onto the clout area as an archive of opportunities and achievements.
February 13th 2010 NEWS The meeting was sad to hear of the passing of Ted Mallett who had so much enthusiasm in the promotion of Flight archery in Northern Counties and beyond.
  13th 2010 NOTES It is suggested that members who present FITA Star applications to NCAS should send these 'recorded delivery' as it has become evident that one may have been lost in the post. A problem such as this can result in the application being delayed to such an extent that GNAS office may refuse the application on grounds of the 'not received within six months' rule.
  13th 2010 NOTES The 'Gus Moses' trophy: Has any member any information on the history of this trophy? It appears to have a greater history than once thought but as little was archived in the proceedings of Northern Counties over more distant years we have no audit trail to follow.
  13th 2010 NOTES The dates of the National and Regional FLIGHT championships are now as follows: 7-8-2010 GNAS Championships, 15-8-2010 NCAS Championships. On the 'clout' front the 'Metric 6 clout badge' is now available. Our judges now number 45 for target and 12 for field, and a judges seminar is planned for 27th March 2010.
  13th 2010 NEWS REGIONAL COACHES CONFERENCE: This is due to be held at the Percy Hedley Sports Academy, West Lane, Killingworth, NE12 7BH on Saturday 15th May 2010. It is to be hosted by D.N.A.A. A full itinerary will be announced when confirmation has been received for the invited presenters.
